Hypothetical situation: if the government were just theoretically 100% ethical and secure with the data they gathered, would be that make it OK? Just for the sake of public safety? I guess maybe? But it’s not worth considering, because they’ll never be 100% ethical nor 100% secure with it. Like asking, “Would you smoke if you could be 100% sure that you’d never have any negative health effects from it?”
