At the nearest corner you enter your favorite bakery and after a short chat with the cute baker person that works there, you grab some bread from them to take home. Afterwards, you head straight to the nearest tramstop and sit down there. You spend about three minutes looking up at the beautiful, mid rise mixed use buildings covered by lush vines and colorful murals, before your tram arrives. You hop in, grab the first available handle and take out the flip phone from your pocket. Without thinking, your finger taps on the news app, and headlines jump out at your eyes. “WORLD’S LAST COAL POWER PLANT OFFICIALLY CLOSED” “TRANS-SIBERIAN HIGH SPEED RAIL TO BE FINISHED NEXT YEAR, REPORT SAYS” “EUROPEAN FEDERATION PRESIDENT: “FREE ELECTRICITY AND HEATING IS A HUMAN RIGHT” After spending some time reading an interview with bed-ridden Nigel Farage, who claims that Brexit 2 would save Britain from pesky labor laws and make it great for business again, the tram speaker announces that your stop is next. You get off quickly and with a spring in your step head home. On the way you notice workers putting the finishing touches on the last road-to-bike-lane transformation project in your neighborhood. Finally, you see the multi-family housing unit your polyfamily lives in. One of your partners is tinkering with the new, free solar panels that were installed last week, while the rest of them are relaxing in the communal garden out in the back. In front of the building, right on the middle of the street, children are playing some form of tag in between the trees. You barely have time to react before your kid splits away from the rest of the group and gives you a hug, squeezing with all their strength. As soon as that happens, you hear your name being shouted to the left. Turns out all your partners have gathered on the sidewalk and are waving towards you, with smiles on their faces. A warmth fills your heart, as your mind naturally wanders towards the thought: “life is good”. (3/3)
