@downey@floss.social always been like this, Google Chrome has become the new IE. not even chromium based bruises are safe. interoperability has always been dead on arrival, it was in 2007, it will be in 2027

@downey@floss.social @thorsummoner@ibite.lol Weird to choose 2007 since that's exactly when choice of browser was in a huge flux with Firefox slowly taking the top spot from IE over 2007-2008. Chrome didn't even release until Fall 2008, by which point Firefox had peaked with well over 50% of the user share and designing your web sites to adhere to standards was pretty much as popular as it would ever get.
