@downey@floss.social @thorsummoner@ibite.lol Weird to choose 2007 since that's exactly when choice of browser was in a huge flux with Firefox slowly taking the top spot from IE over 2007-2008. Chrome didn't even release until Fall 2008, by which point Firefox had peaked with well over 50% of the user share and designing your web sites to adhere to standards was pretty much as popular as it would ever get.

@mnemonicoverload @downey@floss.social yup, and interoperability was still as- dead on arrival then as it remains today- as evidenced by how well it's worked out for folks to produce to a standard rather than test for a single browser-- *vaguely gestures towards: any alexa top 1000 website*. but hey, as a safe effect, we got desktop apps that don't need any graphics or driver integration cross platform, and the only cost was input latency > 700ms
