My wife Tabi said something interesting to me this morning. She said that watching me claim my womanhood and absolutely revel in it has given her an appreciation for hers she thinks she would have never had otherwise. As she put it, she grew up with it, has been swimming in it her whole life, and never once questioned who or what she is. So watching me rediscover mine, enjoy all the ups and downs, joyfully claim it and fiercely defend it, makes her think more about hers. And she thinks what scares the "fucking gatekeepers" (her words) is that they don't want to examine their own femininity or womanhood too closely - or see the joy and fierce protectiveness we take in ours.
