@brianb@fosstodon.org consider the right balance of series vs parallel connection. Just like batteries, series increases voltage and parallel increases current. caveat re: series, a single shaded panel can significantly reduce output in a series run. (1/3)

the biggest factors regarding your desired output power are your panels and your storage system. you have to deliver enough voltage and current for your charging system, and stay below your voltage and current caps to prevent damage. battery capacity depends on what you hope to do with the power, whether you have to run an inverter or you can use DC directly, accounting for inefficiency at each step.
