@kaia@pleroma.soykaf.com i think so. many existing libraries / applications are not really that special. 99% of web apps are CRUD plus some API surface. if you have an existing API, you can ask the LLM to write tests against that and pretty trivially replicate anything that exists. If you give an LLM an opaque image of pleroma, mastodon, and the mastodon api docs, it can write you a working fediverse server in a day or two.

    @kaia@pleroma.soykaf.com i think i need to come back to this once more because i think i was kind of missing the point: in the (very near) future there won't be software releases the way we have now. people will have their own software. if you want to join the fediverse, your agent will look up the specs and write a client appropriate for your taste. so 'free software' as we know it will surely die, but the goals (user sovereignty) will be achieved in ways that nobody would have thought possible.
