@lain@fediffusion.art will there be a schism, e.g. anti-LLM legacy repos with a CoC forbidding AI use vs LLM cleanroom rewrites of the same with MIT license?

@kaia@pleroma.soykaf.com i think so. many existing libraries / applications are not really that special. 99% of web apps are CRUD plus some API surface. if you have an existing API, you can ask the LLM to write tests against that and pretty trivially replicate anything that exists. If you give an LLM an opaque image of pleroma, mastodon, and the mastodon api docs, it can write you a working fediverse server in a day or two.
