While none of us ever want to see something like this happen, and it takes a certain kind of someone to cause this ruckus, it also takes a certain kind of someone to own up to it.
I wonder if there is some sort of penance possible if this person were to do a full disclosure and work with the manufacturer but take no reward in the process.
Heck, If it were me, I would pay for DEFCON admission at full price even if I were accepted as a speaker on this topic in future. (Maybe even a nice EFF donation as an act of contrition?) ๐๐

@deviantollam@defcon.social @defcon@defcon.social I agree the acknowledgment of the incident and "owning up" to it seems to show some level of sincerity. However, if the ulterior motive was to secure a speaker badge or garner favor for next year, it was a poor and manipulative decision.
