I have this profound sense that nothing I care about in software development matters anymore, and that there may still be things that do matter now and in the future, and I could know them right now, but human processes and adoption are the bottleneck to rebuilding our shared understanding of human-computer interaction.
Like… there can't be that many more times in my life I will need to think about or type "UICollectionView." The last may be this year. It feels dumb to not be there already.

I am not lamenting a loss of a feeling of expertise or control, or really anything. Just noticing this growing sensation of an overhang… a sloughing off of the friction that gave structure to interests and concerns and hopes and despairs that is happening more quickly than the momentum of those things can be slowed down.
