@sam@froth.zone I'd pretend to be mystified but I know it goes to bullshit like the royal commission into antisemitism, other studies on random bullshit no one cares about, payrolls of many generally incompetent government staff (note: this is not an argument for contractors, just for better standards - it's borderline impossible to be fired from some government jobs here, people just get moved around) and lining whoever's pockets. Accidentally went mask-off about this when driving my sister somewhere and she said "erm ackshually taxes are good because what about the disabled" like fucking hell the disabled would be living like kings right now if this was managed properly.

@sam@froth.zone actually a note on government work - in aus boomer public servants get paid their salary into retirement "defined benefits scheme"/ the golden handcuffs. They took this away in the early 2000s. Which means if you're a gen z public servant you get to pay for your boomer boss's salary after he retires while you don't get jack shit except raped for eternity.
