Increasing efficiency often reduces resilience. 100% utilization of resources means you can never catch up if a demand spike or equipment failure produces a backlog. Can't train new people. (If you can always hire people who "hit the ground running" you clearly do nothing unique. Spherical frictionless business model ticking down patents to expiration.)
