#KCLS (#Seattle / #KingCounty / #PNW library system) has a survey out about whether they should adopt #AI. Leave a response, especially if you live in the area and are against AI use. "What concerns, if any, do you have about AI?" All of them. Privacy concerns about training on my data/interactions; Environmental concerns about the energy and water use, especially with the federal government bolstering fossil fuels (not to mention passing those costs to residents living next to data centers); ethical concerns regarding the training of these LLMs on non consensually, often *illegally* obtained data; (1/3)

@shadow53@floss.social I’m not anywhere close to the area, but libraries are a social space, for crying out loud. No one needs an AI in a social space. Human presence and agency is the goddamn point.
