Mainly that’s because I completely agree with the distinction between "anonymity" and "privacy" that the CEO apparently made. (I was involved in making a medtech SaaS application GDPR/CCPA-compliant, so I kind-a know what those terms mean.) (1/2)

Maybe I missed a more relevant detail in the conversion, because I only skimmed through that HN discussion thread. Was there anything in particular around dealing with users' PII in that thread that you're concerned about? What's more, I'm not aware of any other company that offers a comparable service. And by comparable I mean: zero logs, no ads, meaningful search customization. I'll gladly check out alternatives, though, if there are any. (2/2)
