@m104@mastodon.social The biggest mystery to me is how the Not-Invented-Here Syndrome has taken hold of so many designers. The vast majority of interaction design basics are solved problems. We know how buttons, checkboxes, radio buttons, scrollbars, etc. should work. And yet, we now have grayed-out buttons that used to unambiguously(!) signal, “unavailable." Or round selection controls that make you wonder if you're looking at list of additive or mutually exclusive options. (1/4)
