IMNHO, at least in the digital realm, the majority of newly shipped human-machine interfaces are mediocre at best. And a huge percentage is plain shit, because designers don't even consciously think about why they do what they do. As an interaction designer, you're designing interactions between human beings and a technical artifact. And if you don't know the fundamentals of how either of these operate, you _will_ fail. (3/4)
