A narrow path between the trees
Beckons with its mystery
Tangled mess of shrubs obscure
The view of where the trail leads
Branches weeping touch the water
As birds above me sing and fly
The river's flow takes its time
Critters sun themselves on rocks nearby
Puffy clouds drift aimless aloft
From rivers edge jut piles of logs
Geese swim by with their young in tow
River rats laugh as they paddle and row
