@anttipeltola@mastodon.world I honestly don't know why IRC was forgotten so fast when all the more trendy options came, when majority of them have inferior user experience to IRC where BYOD guarantees decent experience no matter the device and not just Android/iOS native apps + the mandatory tired old crippled web version. Host-side kept sessions that can be reconnected and some other modernisations like non-DCC file transfers and IRC'd still be relevant even for modern use.
