@caitp@mstdn.social Trudeau made a fairly minor (unless you're a billionaire) increase to capital gains tax and I think it's a bit reason why "the public" turned against him.
Carney immediately reversed it after getting elected.

@flyingsquirrel@mastodon.social I mean, you have to be careful with that stuff... it probably wasn't great for the housing market, tbh (combined with a lot of other factors, but it isn't nothing) but capital gains is just one thing, and tbh, a lot of ordinary people get caught up in that, not just the thompson reuters clan or the other absurdly wealthy families
