chalk it up to I know enough to be dangerous (mostly to self).
I mean, conceptually, at least to some schmoe writing a Geocities page with Dreamweaver, what's the difference? other than spans and classes didn't exist when h1-h6 tags were invented. Like is still supported tho we all know to use strong/emphasis now.
So is am h1 tag treated any differently behind the scenes in the engine than a span with class h1? never really thought about it b4.

@tezoatlipoca@mas.to @fossheim@front-end.social it is. by accessibility tools, scrrenreaders, etc youd need a damn lot of overhead to make what you got for free with an h1
