So the State of Michigan no longer administers driving tests for licenses and leaves it up to private companies. I'm baffled by the ethics of this and how it was even allowed to happen. Tests are $80, and if you fail, you have to take it (and pay) again. I work with teenagers and the problem is obvious to them, too. They're all like, "Yeah, they fail everyone the first time and then they'll schedule you right away for the next day and pass you." It would be like if we offered teachers a bonus if they failed students, and then just trusted that they had morals and wouldn't fail kids for extra money.
