The past couple weeks of reading some articles about the "death of Bluesky" and irrelevance of Mastodon has illustrated that a big metric used for that assessment is lack of referral clicks to articles. Even when someone gets a lot of engagement on posts linking the article no one goes to read them. I think that is a problem going back to before the internet as a "I just read the headline" problem. Still, I do want to boost the signal of the alternative social networks. So now, even if I'm just "liking" with someone's commentary on a link I click through the link. That way my presence on the fediverse can be felt a bit more in the metrics people are using to write us of. #fediverse
