@huwr@aus.social Ah cool. I'll still have a gas cooktop basically as long as we can so I won't be able to do that (I'll need to run more power to get an induction one in) so that's not a factor for a while. Good to hear heat pumps can deal with Canberra winters though

    @timixretroplays@digipres.club they can easily deal with any Australian conditions. I think there’s been a bit of misinformation about which is quite untrue.

    @timixretroplays@digipres.club Air source heat pumps are pretty popular in Sweden, where we regularly deal with - 10 to -15 or worse during winter days (not just mornings), in the southern slightly warmer parts of the country. At much lower than that, they'll often need to use direct electric heating to supplement capacity, but things have been improving a lot lately. @huwr@aus.social
