@timixretroplays@digipres.club yes since we have solar it’s basically free hot water (it does most of its heating in the early afternoon). It was our only gas appliance so removing it meant we could cut out a bill entirely

@huwr@aus.social Ah cool. I'll still have a gas cooktop basically as long as we can so I won't be able to do that (I'll need to run more power to get an induction one in) so that's not a factor for a while. Good to hear heat pumps can deal with Canberra winters though
