@timixretroplays@digipres.club I also suspect it’s got a lot to do with “every expense spared” and churning out a few hundred thousand pieces of formed spring steel would be cheaper than tac buttons in such a small size. The Alps SKRK series are pretty damn small (and my usual go-to for tiny tac buttons)

@jpm@aus.social SKRKs do look tiny and the button specs about match what I'm seeing here, but the body on those is very long - I think to make those work they'd have had to make the board a few millimetres wider, and if they'd already locked in a physical design for that size there wouldn't have been room to put them in.
