In my entire life, I've seen new tech coming in, and it's usually first recognised by people in niche technical interests, and embraced by the young and experimental, while older more conservative crowd tut tut tut at the "new fangled rubbish". GenAI/LLM is the only time I've seen the exact opposite. There's something about status quo and holding onto power though, that hasn't changed. Just who exactly GenAI/LLM benefits as a "new disruptive technology" is noticeable.
