OTD, one hundred years ago, Miles Dewey Davis III, was born. The American trumpeter Miles Davis redefined jazz several times over. At age 21 he was band leader and co-arranger, with Gil Evans and others, of the pivotal album Birth Of The Cool which collected up eleven 78 rpm singles from three recording sessions in 1957.
