Yet it reemerges in mid 1980s work on expert systems in medical diagnostics. This propensity to try to replace humans with a technology that cannot by definition do so (e.g. language models) is totally irrational. The mercantile classes appear to have overextended themselves, and "AI" is a pseudo-religion to some now. Bring on the market crash.
