@osmocom@fosstodon.org @sysmocom@mastodon.social this would seem massive news to me. I've never looked into buying a 4G device for myself, but now if 2G would stop working one day, I could just use a USB SIM reader and with any internet connection I could make and receive calls again?
This seems to be a complete game changer to have a mobile phone number without relying on any proprietary software. (Apart from what's running on the SIM.)
