@Pheneatis@mstdn.ca And that example was a $10 trip. For a longer trip across town, it has been predictably stable for about as long as I've lived in my current home (12 years).

@Pheneatis@mstdn.ca I'm going to clarify. I feel like I may be communicating with a serial arguer. We're talking about outright gouging, not the hidden fee structure of a cab company. I run a company. I have expenses that vary, in part because of the rollercoaster energy costs. All businesses experience it. But even if a business (grocery store, par example) varies their prices based in their own costs, it's not to the extent Chad cited here.
