Why does an online bank payment take 2-3 days? My bank knows how much I have available. The other banks should already be trusting my bank. The internet is practically instant. I just got a text message within 2 seconds of paying a bill online, indicating I did so. Is some guy named Larry in charge of giving every single bill payment the OK before finalizing them? Are there any #Canadian #bankers who can explain this?

@maggiemaybe Moving money probably isn't the same thing though. I regularly get e-transfers from clients within minutes of them receiving my e-mail..

@ned E-transfers are almost instant though. If I e-mail a client an invoice, I have seen their payment come in via e-transfer within minutes... So that leaves me still wondering why there is a difference between e-transfer and online bill payments to large companies, who undoubtedly want my money ASAP.

@failedLyndonLaRouchite That appears to be a US thing, and for transferring funds. Pretty much all Canadian banks use Interac E-Transfer for that purpose. In fact I receive e-transfers several times a day or week, and have been doing so for a decade. But that is separate from online bill payments here.

@thomasfuchs And people get on these boats on purpose?

@Adam_Cadmon1@mastodon.online Maybe they should have regular human-style checkouts. Way harder to steal through those.

How long of a table separates these two? #putin had a pretty big gap between him and his own military men. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/7/10/putin-met-with-wagner-leader-gerasimov-makes-an-appearance

Hi #Christians, are you willing to tell me what message(s) are typically presented in the weekly sermons at your #church?

@Pheneatis Well sure, but it's not significant. It's not more than the cost of the trip. Understood?

@Pheneatis in the past 15 years, the cost for me to get from my home to a specific location has varied by maybe $2, depending on traffic lights. Furthermore, gas prices have varied by an entire dollar per litre and that changed nothing. Why are you like this?

Eh.. I've lost interest in this.
