We first heard about the big Microsoft data center in Malaga maybe three years ago. Construction is finished and to my knowledge it's in use now. They sure light it up bright enough at night.

@mlanger@mastodon.world @gglockner@social.seattle.wa.us I will say this though, companies have been sitting on mountains and mountains of data for years, and now they are trying to cash in. But the data centers we should be worried about are the government (and companies with government contracts). They are building them with the express purpose of tracking everything you do, go and say. That is the real danger here, and why there is a huge push for age verification. That will then lead to banning any and all anonymous online activity.
