Clem does not develop and support the app, *we* do. And we are constantly being criticized for bugs we solved years ago.
The least he could do, especially as they ship a different UX, is to rebrand and not keep sending people our way. The GPL has a provision (section 2a in GPLv2, section 5a in GPLv3) about this.
My proposed GUI solution avoids confrontation with uncooperative downstreams like Clem's project. What you call attitude is self-defence against burnout.
