@wojtek@social.vivaldi.net yeah it was pretty great, until being immutable becomes annoying.
When installing, it asks you if you want to launch to desktop or big picture mode. i set her up with big picture mode (she already daily drives a steamdeck, made sense at the time) but now she's decided she wants the PC to launch into desktop, and, well... it's immutable, so it's more complicated than it needs to be.
i'm sure there is a solve for it out there, i just haven't had the chance to dig into it yet

@clutch_lever@mastodon.social ah. Im planning with regular desktop first so this shouldn't be a problem. And knowing him, and propensity to experiment the less ways to shoot himself in the foot could be convenient ;) also : isn't home directory mutable and whatnot, so a while reinstall with keeping ~/ result in what you want? (though yeah - more work than just a config change...)
