When I was a kid, in early 2000s. I would listen to the radio when studying. I would listen to the public broadcasting channel at night, and they would play classical music. I'm not a huge classical fan, but one night there was a piano performance that absolutely hooked me, so I recorded it on a cassette. I never knew who the artist was, but I listened to the cassette dozens of times.
By the time cassettes were obsolete, I wanted to preserve this, so I did a very scratchy recording of this to my phone at the time. The quality of this was never very good, so I forgot about it and it sorta lived in my music library alone with no metadata under the name classicalbeat.wav.
This week I'm going through my music library on my PC with Picard trying to categorize so many of these no-metadata tracks and I managed to get google's nowplaying app to recognize this song despite the abysmal quality. Anyway, prepare to be whelmed by my 25-year white whale of music.
