I am enormously grateful for our colleagues at @digitalscholar and their commitment to open scholarly infrastructure -- both their own projects and the projects like Knowledge Commons that they help support. Nonprofit, community-oriented platforms are crucial to an open future for knowledge creation, sharing, and preservation, but many such platforms (ahem) are struggling in the current funding landscape.
