SMB is just ghastly large ... you'd be better off with something like NetMount (https://github.com/jrohel/NetMount) which allows for file level sharing, but isn't as complex as SMB.

@mbbrutman@mastodon.sdf.org Yeah, I've looked at NetMount, and I may go that way, but it requires special infra setup vs SMB just pointing at a share on my NAS. But yes it is an option. Still really glad to have you here!
