@glennf@zeppelin.flights Nice write up! I tried it several months ago and wound spending a ton of time helping them chase down some serious bugs downloading large Gmail inboxes. (It involved taking screen shots of Activity Monitor every 60 seconds to see memory allocation ballooning by hundred of MB/minute, growing to several GB and grinding the entire machine to a swap-driven halt that I had never before seen on my M1 MBA.)

@mfessler@mastodon.social Same: I apparently had a massive archive of unwanted Gmail and their system didn’t deal with it well yet. Ultimately, they fixed the bugs and I deleted all that email, which I had been automatically forwarding over the years so had copies of!
