@roofuskit@mstdn.social I agree really, but just not not with my soft heart that loves the building and painting more than playing. I could see a future where the craft part of the hobby becomes almost non existent and people just buy in and play. That's definitely cool in that it's people getting together to have fun, we need more of that, but I would weep for my nerdy little creative hobby (that would continue to exist in all probability)

@renegademinis@dice.camp @roofuskit@mstdn.social I think the craft part of the hobby comes and goes. In the 00s I remember a push for prepainted miniatures that coincided with D&D 4th Ed. And the pandemic brought back painting with a resurgence of Warhammer to a lot of mainstream hobby spaces. These are all trends, nothing stays for long.
