@An0n@beige.party Now, here’s the interesting thing, it’s not native to North America. It’s an introduced Eurasian species. Is it possible that the area you were hiking in had an old homesite around there? It’s an old fashioned flower people used to plant in their yards. I guess it’s also possible some bulbs got washed downstream in a flood, since you were near a river. Fortunately, it’s not very invasive. And it’s a pretty little plant…

@digitalrodent@universeodon.com The river was down in a valley, so probably not carried by the river. But farmland is *right there*, so who knows how to looked a long time ago. There were lots though, scattered in that one stretch. Interesting.
