Has anyone here pursued the new interpretation of #Canadian ancestral citizenship rules? The way it's being interpreted, as I understand it, is if you have an ancestor who was a Canadian citizen, then you technically ARE a Canadian citizen, and the paperwork acknowledging that fact is legally a formality. Well, it goes back to my great grandfather, who was born 150 years ago in New Brunswick.

I'm just curious about anyone's experience with the process, what documents they're accepting as proof and the like. I can get birth certificates for myself, my father and grandfather, but so far the best I can do for my great-grandfather is two Canadian census records and his US naturalization paperwork. I don't know if I'd do anything with citizenship (my attitude on the current US situation is that we owe it to the world to at least try and clean up our own mess), but options are nice.
