2/ Most people that come from other social media are very, very guarded about whom they follow and with good reason. Convincing them to simply go on a following spree is like telling an abuse victim to trust people again. We need to find a way to make the on boarding process something less than a clean sheet process and but not as invasive as a Twitter algorithm. A smarter algorithm might actually be a solution.

3/ I'd propose an algorithm that, with your permission, goes into your other social media profiles and A) looks for exact equivalent accounts in the fediverse and B) scores your interests and attempts to find like minded equivalents in the fediverse and then dump them into a "for you" list
