@rl_dane@polymaths.social there are a lot of things--especially things desktop users really like to have--that aren't possible without either systemd, or something rather like systemd in scope.
BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE SHIT WORKED PROPERLY. It would be nice if these terminally dev-ass developers at least TALKED to some actual sysadmins before trying to play sysadmins on television, because they absolutely fucking suck at it.
And I might be kinder about THIS if I hadn't read how they respond to bug reports.

@jimsalter@fosstodon.org Every day I get pushed closer to just running BSD and maybe a little 9front just to mess with my head, and maybe finally unboxing my C64U and leaving modern computing behind. 😂

@jimsalter@fosstodon.org the two things which annoy me most when I have to use it (infrequently) are that getting logs for a service is now much more typing and involved than `less /var/log/whatever` and that the verb for systemctl goes before the service name for stop/start etc, so taking a bunch of actions in a row on one service needs more than [up arrow] ^W [type new verb] You're right it's written by people who don't have to USE it
