I don't have a rule that says you can't send me cool insect facts while I'm writing, just so we're clear. :blobcatgiggle:

While insects aren't a special interest of mine, I was aware that there were certain limiting factors that prevent insects getting particularly big. I kind of bent the rule a little and found out about Meganeura. Which was, unfortunately for my desire for gigantic insects, not that big. (Wikipedia is kind of inconsistent. I've seen max wingspan of like 2.5 ft (75cm) and estimated weights up to about 150 g or something like that. Big bois but not, you know, giant or anything.) Cool insect facts still welcome.

@EveHasWords@toot.cat There is a kind of wasp that is smaller than an amoeba. It can fly and eat and find a mate and reproduce. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaphragma_mymaripenne
