Interesting, but is this not EMG/EOG dressed up in BCI clothing?!
It seems like a theme to me that these potentially useful assistive devices are (in my humble opinion) miss-marketed in this way.
I admit i'm sceptical overall about significant assistive applications of BCI ('brainwaves' ) - and certainly how this is portrayed in the media (which feels technoAbleist to me).

@si_judge@fosstodon.org I did think the article over-sold the neural/brain waves bit, since the description seemed to suggest that muscle movement was the driving factor. Not a field I know much about, but if the technology can/does work as advertised, the potential seems encouraging to me.
