At the grocery store, you have to put a coin in the shopping cart to release it. It's a pain when you don't have a coin with you, so I started grabbing stray carts that I find in the parking lot and bringing them in for people who need them. Today I saw a volunteer from the soup kitchen at the store, looking a little lost because he didn't have a buck for the cart. I rolled my stray in front of him without announcing myself and then quickly walked away. He got a free cart without realizing it was me who gave it to him.
