My only issue, along with the neovim suggestion, is that Im not sure if want to learn either vim or emacs. Given their reputation of steep learning curve
But on the other hand, they are very powerfull once learned. And since I also use a bit of python a Julia, it could be great to have just 1 IDE for everything

@Alejandro_P@mathstodon.xyz @einsiedlerspiel@todon.nl FWIW: how steep the learning curve is really depends on how much of the advanced features of your existing editor you use. I think the mistake people often make is to start out with someone elses, fully-decked out vim config, which throws a million things at you. But learning the very basics of editing/moving etc. is quite okay - and from there one can go as deep as wanted/needed.
