@schwa @incanus Yeah, Obsidian's editing is good (I use it for other stuff already), but it doesn't seem like you can just open a single .md file alone and edit it. It's got to be part of a vault, which means it makes its little .obsidian folder alongside, and gets very heavyweight. Typora looks like my prime candidate right now.

    @bwebster@mastodon.social @schwa@mastodon.social @incanus@mastodon.social Another person here who uses Obsidian and Typora for those two use cases -- things that are "vault-like" vs. individual documents. Besides requiring things to be in a vault, Obsidian's editor drove me nuts out of the box. To this day I have no idea how people considered it usable. I've managed to make it usable with plugins, but lack of Mac-like Command-E/F/G still annoys me. And I switch to BBEdit when I need global search and replace.
