Alright folks unfortunately @darkosubotica re-tripped a desired hobby of mine and I'm going to get into programmable LEDs. Looking for all suggestions and input! Its a tough space for hobbyists. I'll just be documenting my thought process here. **What's important to me?** - programming, not tinkering with wires and soldering - I'm interested in individually addressable LEDs for fine-grained effects / fun. I know I won't use those capabilities to light my wardrobe, but it's fun! - I like accurate whites. In a past life I was a theater lighting designer. **Things I have to figure out:** - WLED supporting controller (ideally supports 5v and 12v) - Zigbee vs wifi? - Leaning zigbee, but then I need a zigbee hub, so which one - LED Strip type (WS2812b vs WS2805), and seller - Solder-less connectors? - Surely something else I'm unaware of #leds #wled #ZigBee
