@jazaval@mastodon.social A mobile device with an integrated microphone and loudspeakers that can be used to make phone calls or send sms messages. The ergonomics of doing those comfortable may metter too but technically are not a requirement. But you're right, the distinction is slim and superficial, they're both really just computers. Notably, when we talk about computers there's the expectation of being able to freely use and install any app, OS or other types of software available on it from any source.
